Jared Leto on his varied career: 'So many people didn't understand'

30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto has revealed that pursuing a music career while already working as an actor was incredibly tough as many people simply "didn't understand".

During a revealing and charismatic new interview with the Rolling Stone, he explained:

"There were so many people that didn't understand. There were people in this town who thought it was insane. There were films that I decided not to do because I had tiny little tours, and people would just lose their minds. And some of them turned into the biggest movies ever made."

Leto went onto talk about the career aspirations he had as a youngster and admitted the only things he ever saw himself doing were either being a drug dealer or an artist:

"They both had their own risk and reward. I didn't even know the word 'celebrity.' I didn't have posters of people that I loved on my wall. Like, I must have listened to Led Zeppelin II 16,412 times. I didn't even know what the fuck they looked like. I thought musicians and actors and these types of people were like magic. It was royalty or you were born into it, or it was some stroke of luck or genius."
