Grimes on making a career out of art: 'It's not just hard work and talent'

"Flesh Without Blood" musician Grimes has opened up about making a career out of art and confessed that it's mostly down to luck and being in the right place at the right time.

She told ASOS magazine that chance plays a huge part in getting any creative project off the ground to the point where it's sustainable as a career:

"For anyone who is successful in art, it's 90 per cent luck and chance. If you're talented and you're not getting anywhere, you shouldn't feel bad. It's not just hard work and talent."

Grimes added that although she has been fortunate in the music industry, she would still have pursued her passions because she has the skills to do so: "I'd still be able to make records because I own all the equipment and I have all the skills."
