Morrissey to open pop-up shop in Brooklyn for an animal shelter

Music icon and animal rights activist Morrissey will launch a special pop-up shop next weekend in Brooklyn.

He will open doors to his MPORIUM merchandise store at Sugar Mutts Rescue, which is a local dog adoption centre, before his scheduled performance at the Kings Theatre on September 24. It will also open the next day, on September 25.

A percentage from all sales will be donated to the charity, which saves dogs that are held at kill shelters in the area and aims to rehome them.

Back in August, Morrissey teamed up with PETA to launch an arcade-style game called "This Beautiful Creature Must Die". In a statement about the game, he said: "This game is the biggest social crusade of all, as we safeguard the weak and helpless from violent human aggression. You don't get that from Pokémon Go."
