Paul McCartney has announced that he will be playing his most intimate gigs in a decade just before Christmas in London and Liverpool.

Even though Macca would never have a problem selling out huge arenas the former Beatle has decided to give his fans an early Christmas present with two dates at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on December 18 and at Liverpool’s O2 Academy on December 20.

Macca said: "Christmas is the perfect excuse for everyone to let their hair down and rock out. We are looking forward to celebrating with the people of London and Liverpool."

Tickets for the gigs will be going on sale tomorrow at 10am (December 8).
