Did The Roots subtly troll Donald Trump on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon?

As you've probably heard by now, Donald Trump appeared on Jimmy Fallon's popular NBC Tonight Show this week on Thursday (September 15).

As expected, many viewers weren't too happy about Trump's appearance. However, it's since been noted that the house band, The Roots, subtly managed to diss the Republican Presidential candidate to his face by playing a version of Erykah Badu's '20 Feet Tall', referring to his plans to build a wall between America and the Mexico border to stop immigrants.

As Trump made his entrance on the show, greeted by mixed reactions, The Roots fittingly sang:

"Then you, you built a wall / A 20 foot wall..."

Fallon diplomatically avoided getting too heavily into the political side of things but with the elections so close, did probe Trump about several things, including the media.

Trump responded: “I think the press has become more and more vicious."

He also said that he “loves” the polls but admitted: “I don’t pay attention if I’m losing or lagging, I never mention it. Believe me, only when I’m winning.”

American comedian and chat-show host Fallon also managed to get Trump to allow him to mess up his famous hairdo, which was both comical and ironic, as this is clearly a very messy and hairy time for the United States.
