Gigi Hadid on attacker: "He should count his lucky stars that Zayn wasn't there"

Supermodel Gigi Hadid was attacked by a man yesterday (September 22) in Milan while she was leaving a fashion show.

Video footage of the frightening incident shows a male walking up behind Gigi and putting his arms around her waist, lifting her off the ground. Luckily, Gigi was quick to respond and managed to free herself from his grasp, but she has since taken to her official Twitter page to warn other women that people really do behave in such unacceptable ways and it's smart to be prepared.

She tweeted: "Thanked my boxing coach today. GIRLS, prepare yourselves so that, if you ever feel in danger, MUSCLE MEMORY can fight back for you. Thank you all so much for ur support."

Actor Ansel Elgort, who played the male lead in "The Fault In Our Stars", asked her where boyfriend Zayn Malik was when this altercation took place and she confessed that the man who attacked her should be grateful Zayn wasn't there at the time:

"@AnselElgort that guy should prob take some time away from icing his jaw tonight to count his lucky stars that Z wasn't there....."
