Skepta's ‘Konnichiwa’ shoots up by 174% following Mercury win

Sales of Skepta’s album ‘Konnichiwa’ have shot up by 174% after the grime artist's Mercury Prize win last week.

Skepta’s fourth album climbed 40 places to No. 13 in this week’s official albums chart.

‘Konnichiwa’, which was released earlier this year in May, fought off stiff competition from both David Bowie and Radiohead to win the £25,000 prize.

The artist is the second to win the Mercury Prize after Dizzee Rascal won with his debut 'Boy In Da Corner' in 2003.

Skepta has also been nominated for best male, best album and best grime act at this year's MOBO Awards.
