Jared Leto vows to appeal after losing Taylor Swift insult video case

Jared Leto says he will appeal a judge's decision to throw out the singer and actor's lawsuit over a video of himself insulting Taylor Swift.

The US star filed the legal action in December after TMZ published a video of Leto saying "I don't give a f**k about her" in his studio while listening to her album '1989'.

A district judge, however, ruled against Leto because they said videographer Naeem Munaf, who took the clip, could do whatever he wanted with the video.

The 30 Seconds To Mars man said he will now appeal the decision.

Leto said: "It was wrong of TMZ to exploit material that did not belong to them.

"Neither myself, nor the employee in question, have any confusion around the issue at hand - he was an employee who was hired to work for us and the footage he shot in the privacy of my home studio was owned by me."

"We are launching an appeal immediately and are confident the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals will reverse this decision. I hope that we will one day move toward a place where we ask how well we can treat one another rather than how badly."
