Prince's Paisley Park gets permit to become permanent museum

Prince's Paisley Park complex has been granted permission to become a full-time museum.

For the last month, a small number of public tours have been held in the building, which was built by the late musician in the 1980s.

Chanhassen city council in Minnesota voted on Monday (October 24) to reclassify the property as a museum, meaning that one-off permits do not need to be sought for tours.

The building will open as a permanent museum from October 28 and among the attractions on tours will be video Prince's editing suites and rehearsal rooms.

The musician's ashes will also be on display in a Paisley Park themed urn.

Each tour will cost $38.50 (£31.50) plus a $7.50 service charge.
