Boy George and Marc Almond lead tributes for Pete Burns

A host of music stars including Boy George and Marc Almond have paid tribute to Pete Burns after he died at the weekend.

The Dead Or Alive singer passed away on Sunday (October 23) aged 57 as a result of a "massive" cardiac arrest.

Boy George took to Twitter to say: "Tearful about the passing of @PeteBurnsICON.

"He was one of our great true eccentrics and such a big part of my life! Wow. Hard to believe!"

Marc Almond added: "We've had some mad times with Pete but he was a one off creation, a fabulous fantastic brilliant creature and always sweet to me.

"...and one of Liverpool's brightest lights. A world less strange and crazily colourful."

Dannii Minogue wrote on Twitter: "RIP Pete Burns: London club music legend. You Spin Me Round = true club anthem."

It has also been revealed meanwhile that Burns was due to appear on ITV show Loose Women on Monday (October 24).
