You Me At Six are trying out a new sound for their forthcoming album

You Me At Six’s forthcoming third album, which has been tipped for September 2011, will be different from their previous releases according to front man Josh Franceschi.

The popular British band will be joining pop-punk heroes Blink 182 on their UK arena tour, and took time out of their busy schedule to talk with alternative music magazine Rock Sound about the progress of their new material:

“We just did some demos and played them to our label who we thought would be a bit worried because some of the songs are a bit heavier. I’ll be really honest, we were thinking about taking a little break from You Me At Six.”

“We’ve got songs that we’ve written that sound like they could be on a Coldplay or Snow Patrol album. And then we’ve got another song that sounds like it could be on a Parkway Drive record.”
