The Rolling Stones shoot to No.1 on UK albums chart with 'Blue & Lonesome'

The Rolling Stones are on course to land their 12th UK No.1 album this week with their latest effort 'Blue & Lonesome'.

The midweek update released on Monday (December 5) reveals that the record has sold 66,000 units so far to place it at No.1. The band's last new studio effort to reach the top spot was 1994's 'Voodoo Lounge'.

Michael Ball & Alfie Boe’s 'Together' stays put at No.2, Elvis Presley's 'The Wonder of You' sticks at No.3 and Little Mix's 'Glory Days' drops three places from No.1 to No.4.

Olly Murs is up one place to No.5 with '24HRS', while Michael Bublé’s 'Christmas' rises from No.11 to No.6 as festive fever grows in the UK. The crooner is also at No.7 with 'Nobody But Me'.

Jean-Michel Jarre is a new entry at No.29 with 'Oxygene 3', John Legend debuts at No.32 with 'Darkness And Light' and 'The Dream Synopsis' by The Last Shadow Puppets is in at No.34.
