You Me At Six singer says The 1975's Matt Healy is one of the most 'interesting' rock stars

You Me At Six's Josh Franceschi has lauded The 1975 frontman Matt Healy by proclaiming him as one of the most "interesting" rock stars around.

The singer told NME that he feels the band create "great" music that is backed by thoughtful presentation. He said: "I take a lot of pride in seeing British artists achieve well – not only in their country but internationally.

"We’ve really had that with the likes of The 1975, Foals, Bring Me The Horizon; they’re a handful of bands who have taken the UK and put our music even further on the map. We’d love to follow in those footprints.

"[The 1975's] music is great, you can’t deny their music or that they write great pop songs. I hope they won’t mind me saying that – it’s not an insult in the slightest. I feel like everything from the way that they present their band is interesting.

“Matt Healy is the closest thing we’ve had to an interesting rock star for a long time. He’s not the sort of rock star would necessarily work on paper, but he has really resonated with a lot of people."
