Music stars pay tribute to Obama on Donald Trump's inauguration day

President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony is currently underway in Washington D.C. and music's hottest stars are taking to their social media pages to voice their opinions on the USA's political climate and to congratulate President Barack Obama on a progressive and important eight years in the White House. 

Musician John Legend wrote: "#ThankYouObamas. I'm proud to know you. Proud to have supported you. Thank you for your wisdom, grace and service to your country. The last 2 inaugurations were very crowded. This one is so... roomy."

Bebe Rexha tweeted: "Aww president Obama, I'm gonna miss you. You have a good heart."

Disclosure also shared a post on Twitter, which read: "Best of luck to our friends and everyone in America for the next 4 years. Stick together and we'll get through this."

'Boom Clap' hitmaker Charli XCX wrote: "obama. is. so. cool. plz. make. this. inauguration. stop."

The U.S. trending topics on Twitter at the time of writing include 'Mourning in America' and 'Donald the Unready' as Trump is sworn in as the 45th President of the United States of America.
