Former X Factor contestant Lucie Jones has been confirmed to represent the United Kingdom at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in May. 

The highly anticipated annual event is set to take place in Kiev, Ukraine and Jones will sing a song named 'Never Give Up On You', which was written by Emmelie de Forest, at the competition. 

The Welsh singer competed against other hopefuls yesterday and was crowned the winner by a vote. Speaking about her success, she said: "I can't believe you picked me - thank you so much." She later tweeted: "Completely overwhelmed and so surprised. Tonight's been one of the best nights of my life. Thank you, so much."
