Niall Horan "can't wait" for upcoming London performance

Singer-songwriter Niall Horan, of One Direction fame, has been confirmed to perform live at the final of Radio 2's 500 Words writing competition.

The event is due to take place on Friday, June 16 at the Tower of London and Horan told BBC Radio 2's Chris Evans that he is really excited about it because he hasn't visited the popular tourist attraction before: "No, I actually haven't been to the Tower of London. I love London."

He continued: "I can't wait, I'm looking forward to it. [It will be] me and my guitar, it's going to be chilled out in a small room. Not too busy. Performing on TV shows is pretty quiet, but not with a room full of kids."

In a video message, he said: "I'm very excited to announce that on Friday, June 16th I'll be performing at the 500 Words final with Radio 2 at the Tower of London. Make sure that you don't miss out on your chance to be there with us on the day - get writing your story and I'll see you in a few months."
