St. Vincent confirmed as Record Store Day ambassador

Musician St. Vincent has been named as the ambassador for Record Store Day 2017

She made the announcement in an entertaining video clip shared via Funny or Die, which can be seen below, and this year's RSD will take place on Saturday, April 22. Iggy Pop, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme have all previously been ambassadors for the annual celebration.

St. Vincent recently spoke to FACT magazine about her forthcoming new album and revealed that she is really taking her time with it because she wants to put out something "worthwhile":

"I needed to have something very worthwhile to say on a record. I used to be a little more utilitarian about it, but it takes time to cultivate (something worthwhile). Based on the amount of material I have, I could have put out three records by now. But I needed this one, especially with where we are in the world, to be the best thing that I’ve ever done by leaps and bounds."
