Camila Cabello on going solo: 'The way my mom raised me has always been: Don’t settle.'

Songstress Camila Cabello has opened up about her bold decision to quit Fifth Harmony and explained that she was simply raised 'not to settle'.

During a revealing new interview with Billboard magazine, the star admitted that it was a risky move to go solo, but she felt in her heart that she needed to take that particular risk:

"The easiest route would be to shut my mouth, sing the songs, wear the clothes and keep going, you know? I mean, [we were] at the peak of our career. It’s definitely not the safe option. [But] I have it in my DNA. The way my mom raised me, it has always been: Don’t settle. Jump and hope you grow wings on the way down. I feel alive!”

Speaking about her passion for creating, she confessed that even while on the road for 5H she would work on her ow material: “I would wake up super early, get off the bus, go to the hotel, put the TV on super loud — I didn’t want people to hear me f—ing yelling — then go into the bathroom, put my laptop on the toilet and sit on the floor and write all day.”
