Camila Cabello: 'I’m watching myself from another person’s perspective'

Songstress Camila Cabello has revealed that looking back on her final year with Fifth Harmony is difficult and often feels like she's accessing memories that don't belong to her.

During her new interview with Billboard, she was reminded that in the group's emotional interview back in April 2016 she had explained that she was "afraid of the things her brain might tell her" and said that hearing that quote now makes her really sad:

“It’s so hard to hear that. It breaks my heart. It’s like I’m watching myself from another person’s perspective, like, ‘Damn, poor girl.’”

Billboard's Chris Martins then revealed that the only member of 5H who didn't cry during that particular interview was Cabello, but the talented young vocalist did eventually find her tears "in Miami with her parents and sister". The 'Bad Things' sensation said:

“I went to the beach a lot. I listened only to Latin music. It reminds me of where I come from and that this [conflict] doesn’t have to be World War III. In Cuba, people are literally making rafts out of tires and sticks, throwing themselves into the ocean to find opportunity. That’s real shit. Not this."

“I know people will try and turn this into, ‘Is she going to be more successful outside the group?’ To me, if I’m in the studio every day and I’m growing as an artist and I’m speaking from my heart, that’s success. The results don’t matter. I mean, isn’t that the goal?”
