Star-studded 2011 Brit Awards

Tonight, February 15, London played host to the 2011 BRIT Awards and the ceremony was a star-studded affair complete with some surprise winners.

Take That opened the event with an extravagant stage invasion of riot police dancers as they performed 'Kidz' and the first award to be announced was Best British Male, which went to Plan B.

Other performances came from Adele, whose emotional rendition of 'Someone Like You' wowed the huge audience, Plan B, who continued the military theme with pyrotechnics, inmates and yet more riot police, and Rihanna who gave fans a mash up of her hits 'S&M', 'Only Girl (In The World)' and 'What's My Name'.

Arcade Fire also performed as did Tinie Tempah, and Cee Lo Green closed the ceremony with an aptly censored version of 'Fuck You', which he sang live with London's own Paloma Faith.
