The Pogues' final US tour

Iconic outfit The Pogues have confirmed that their forthcoming U.S Tour, entitled 'A Parting Glass', will be their last.

The tour will celebrate the band's 25th anniversary of coming to the States and although it's only set to run for 10 dates has been tipped as them "drawing the line". Peter "Spider" Stacey revealed to Billboard.com:

"I think we are basically pretty certain this is the last tour of this type we'll be doing in the States,"

"There might be the odd sort of one-off here and there, or other things like that,"

"We're not saying this is absolutely, definitely the end. But as things stand at the moment, I don't really see us continuing as we have been. It seems to have run its course. You can never say a door is absolutely, definitely and finally shut, but we're drawing the line, to a certain extent, this time."

He also explains that The Pogues' decision to cut down on live performances is much to do with age:

"There's always a part of me that says, 'Fuck it, we can keep going on and on and on and on.' But that's the more unrealistic side. One has to acknowledge the passing of the years."

The tour dates for 'A Parting Glass..." are as follows:

  • March 3 - Congress Theatre in Chicago, IL
  • March 4 - Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, MI
  • March 7 - Rams Head Live in Baltimore, MD
