Future of Prince's '21 Night Stand' uncertain

Prince, who is currently working his way through his exciting 21 night residency in Los Angeles, may not see all the shows through according to Live Nation's co-president, Mark Campana.

The 'Purple Rain' star is only four nights in to the extensive string of shows, but Campana has expressed concern that he may not honour his commitments and wonders if he will take the remaining performances back on the road:

"Everything comes from Prince," he explained. "He has not discussed anything beyond L.A., and L.A. was decided literally as the trucks were leaving the Carolinas (at the end of March),"

Campana, co-president of Live Nation in North America, continued:

"The drivers needed to know what direction to go and Prince said, 'head west.' By the time they were halfway across the country, they were told to go to Los Angeles and we were announcing the shows and putting them on sale for the Forum. So spontaneity is in play on all levels. We're all waiting with bated breath as to where's he going after Los Angeles."

The 21 dates were expected to all take place at the Los Angeles Forum, but this could change at any moment as Campana added, "we are taking direction, not giving direction".
