Joe McElderry has been signed up to star on ITV's new show 'Popstar to Operastar' and admits that his stint on X Factor has prepared him well. 

Although McElderry didn't enjoy the success he hoped for following his win on the popular talent competition, he definitely learned a lot from the experience and says he will apply his knowledge to this new challenge:

"I'm alright with performing in front of Rolando (Villazon) and Katherine (Jenkins) now. I'm used to being in front of high profile people after the X Factor, so that makes it a bit easier.

"I've also been in the environment of having to learn a song quickly and performing it."
