My Chemical Romance not worried about Reading and Leeds

My Chemical Romance are looking forward to their forthcoming headlining slots at this year's Reading and Leeds festival, despite the fact that when they performed there in '06 they were bottled.

Five years ago, the 'I'm Not Okay (I Promise)' rockers endured rather unfortunate sets at the August bank holiday weekend event, but it hasn't deterred them and they plan to come back and win the crowd over. Frontman Gerard Way told the Daily Star:

"I always said if we ever do Reading and Leeds again we should be closing it. That’s the only way we should play it, so it will feel good to do just that."

Referring back to their '06 performance, he added:

"If we get into the specifics of what happened before, it had very little to do with the band and the music."

“At that point it was a very different thing, maybe public perception.”

The band are up for an impressive 5 titles at next week's Kerrang! awards and you can watch them perform 'Sing' at Radio 1's Big Weekend here:
