Nick Jonas announces launch of talent contest

Nick Jonas is set to launch a new talent competition that will aim to find the next young vocal superstar.

The 'Burnin' Up' singer has joined forces with Quaker Chewy Granola Bars and together they will run a search for the next best thing in music, but this new concept stands apart from the throng of other similar contests as participants must be between the ages of 8-14.

Kids can upload their performances to a specially designed website, where a panel of judges will select their top 5 before members of the public will vote for their favourite. The winner will receive a contract with Jonas Group Management, a cash prize, an online music video and a Jonas-produced single.

The 18-year-old musician spoke of his excitement about the project in a statement and said:

"Making music is my passion in life and the best way I know how to express myself, I wanted to be part of the Quaker Chewy Superstar Search to help other young musicians make music and follow their dreams."
