Bruno Mars earns longest-reigning debut single title

Bruno Mars has earned the impressive title of having the longest-leading single on the Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart in its almost 50 year history.

The singer-songwriter's first offering, 'Just The Way You Are', has just celebrated its 20th week at the No.1 position in this particular chart, which has made it the longest-reigning debut single since the list's inception.

He is closely followed by Daniel Powter, whose 2006 hit 'Bad Day' spent a whopping 19 weeks at the top spot, and Colbie Calliat who also enjoyed a 19 week run at No.1 with 'Bubbly' back in 2008.

Mars will return to the UK on July 8 to perform at the iTunes festival and his date's support will come from Ed Sheeran.
