James Blunt criticised by fans over Facebook photo

James Blunt caused outrage from his Polish fans after posting a photo on his Facebook page mocking the country’s architecture.

The ‘You’re Beautiful’ singer was in Wodzislaw Slaski to perform at the Life Festival at Mosir Stadium at the weekend.  Prior to his gig, Blunt posted a picture of himself on outside a half-built accommodation block with the quip:   "Err, this is my hotel in Poland."

The remark has caused outrage, with over 5,000 fans commenting on the image and slamming the star over the joke.  Although most comments were criticising the star, accusing him of being insensitive and rude, some defended him.

Blunt has defended himself, and tweeted: "The picture I took really was part of my hotel. It was in Krakow, which, by the way, is a beautiful city."

Blunt previously courted controversy when he said he would be playing the organ at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
