Jools Holland scoops prestigious award

Musician and presenter Jools Holland will be honoured later this year with a prestigious award.

The 53-year-old is set to receive the Music Industry Trusts' Award at a ceremony that will take place in November, and other iconic figures who have previously scooped the prize include Sir Elton John, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Tom Jones.

Holland has already received a much coveted OBE, but will be given this new accolade as part of the Nordoff Robbins and the BRIT Trust's charity event at London's Grosvenor House. He said of the honour:

"How wonderful to be honoured. My lifelong passion is music and I've been so lucky to be able to indulge this for more years than I care to think about."
