Brother forced to change band name

Slough-based four piece Brother, who rocked Glastonbury festival over the weekend, have been forced to change their name following a legal battle over the moniker. 

Singer Lee Newell told the NME that another band in Australia served them a writ over use of the name:

"There's this fucking Celtic band called Brother too. We knew about it but honestly we thought nothing about it because they were so small."

Josh Ward, Brother's bassist, added:

"This guy travelled across America to come to our San Francisco show, fought his way to the front and chucked a 30 page document on my feet while we were playing. "I said, 'What the fuck's that?' and he went, 'You've been served'.

"It was a writ. They had the power to take our songs off the internet and make our band no more. So we had no choice but to change the name."

They have since re-branded as Viva Brother and debuted a new banner at Glastonbury, with their revamped name, during their set. Watch a video they filmed on the event's site here:
