Keisha Buchanan wows at her first solo gig

Former Sugababes star Keisha Buchanan wowed at her first solo gig last night, July 19.

The singer performed a set to a packed audience at London's Jacques Townhouse yesterday and threw a few cover versions in for good measure.

She treated the crowd to acoustic versions of Cyndi Lauper's 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun', Beyoncé's 'Run The World (Girls)' and Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep'.

Speaking to Digital Spy, 26-year-old Buchanan explained that she loved being back on stage, but it was certainly a nerve-wracking experience:

"I was shaking, I was trying not to look at my mum who was standing in the front row!"

She also opened up about her forthcoming album, and added "it's got a lot of bass. Some of the songs are quite live-sounding, but there are songs like 'Beautiful Mess' which are a lot more bassy on the record."

"I think I've managed to cover a lot of subjects on there so far - loneliness, being independent, relationships. 'Future Cut' produced 'Carried Away', but I want to keep the other producers on there a secret for now - I think people will be very surprised!"
