Keri Hilson sparks outrage with "resurrected" Amy Winehouse party photo

Keri Hilson has sparked controversy after posting a photo of an Amy Winehouse lookalike on her Twitter account along with a caption that said the recently deceased star had been "resurrected" for a party.

The 'Turnin' Me On' singer wrote the offending message on her personal account earlier today, July 26, just 3 days after Winehouse's death on July 23, that read:

"*gasp* Amy Winehouse resurrected to party w/ me!!! (seriously, uncanny resemblance)".

She also attached a picture of herself with the lookalike to the tweet, which sparked outrage among both her own followers and the late 'You Know I'm No Good' singer's fans.

Hilson hit back at those who accused her of being incredibly inappropriate and wrote, "come on, I mean no harm. All due respect. But really the resemblance freaked me out. This was simply the best tribute ever. #RIPAMYWINEHOUSE"

After reading some of the comments directed at her apparent insensitivity, Hilson sent out a message that explained she never intended to offend or upset anyone:

"Bedtime. I apologize 2 anyone who might've taken it the wrong way. As a fan, I thought it was cool that she dressed up to honor Amy. I had no ill intent, but I understand how it appears insensitive...my bad twitterville. For real. Good night :)"
