Noel Gallagher likens new project to "giving up drugs" and making new friends

Noel Gallagher may have just unveiled his debut solo single, 'The Death of You and Me', but he has already likened his new project to "giving up drugs and moving on to a new circle of friends."

Speaking to Q magazine about Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, he said:

"They're a collective more than a band. Anyone can join and anyone can leave. I was sat in bed one night before I got my band together. I said to my wife, 'It's just dawned on me, I've got to find five other people. I won't know their wives or girlfriends, or mates, and I've got to share a tour bus with them.'"

He also cleared the air between himself and Beady Eye, and admitted he even likes their track, 'The Roller', adding:

"I don't want to get into one with them. They're cool guys and I wish them all the luck in the world. I've always loved 'The Roller', I've got a demo of it with me playing the drums, Gem, Liam singing."
