Charlie Simpson labels Busted 'irrelevant' and would never want to reform

Charlie Simpson, former frontman for pop-rock boyband Busted, has dismissed the 'Year 3000' act as entirely irrelevant. 

The singer and guitarist quit the group back in 2005 and went on to enjoy a successful run in a band named Fightstar, but has now decided to go it alone and is preparing to launch his debut solo career. Speaking to BBC's Newsbeat about his past, Simpson said:

"For me Busted is a lifetime ago, it has no relevance to my life right now. Not in a million years would we reform. I don't see the point in talking about it."

The 26-year-old musician will release his first solo record, entitled 'Young Pilgrim', on August 15 and you can watch the video for Busted's well-known hit, 'What I Go To School For', here:
