Florence and the Machine unveil new music and video

Florence and the Machine have treated their fans to a brand new song and video.

The offering, titled 'What The Water Gave Me', takes its name from an unusual Frida Kahlo painting and is the first new music to be released from the group in quite a while. It was also announced on Monday, August 22 that a new album will follow on November 7.

Posting a message to her fans on Twitter (August 22), Welch wrote, "hello interworld, I'm out of the studio and into the sunshine! Pop over to my website at 5pm tomorrow for a peek at something very special x"

The "something very special" that she promised was a video to go with the newly unveiled Florence and the Machine track, 'What The Water Gave Me'.

Co-written by Francis White (Will Young's 'Leave Right Now' and Adele's 'Chasing Pavements') the song has an ethereal appeal that embodies Welch's trademark style, along with layered haunting vocals that quietly command attention.
