Pukkelpop sets up fund to help victims of storm

Pukkelpop Festival has set up an independent fund to help victims of last weekend's storm.

In a statement on the festival's website, organisers said:

"Starting today, you can transfer your donation to the bank account of the 'Steunfonds Slachtoffers Pukkelpopstorm' (Support Fund for the Victims of the Pukkelpop Storm)."

Five people were killed when a stage collapsed during a storm at the Belgian music festival on August 18.

The festival made it it clear that all donations for the fund will go directly to those affected by the tragedy:

"Everyone taking part in the establishment and operation of the Fund - now and in the future - is doing so from a sense of social engagement on an unpaid volunteer basis."

They ask that "any initiative that can contribute to the Fund would be greatly appreciated."
