Jermaine Jackson explains why he is opposed to the Michael Jackson tribute concert

Michael Jackson's older brother, Jermaine, has explained why he and certain members of his family are opposed to the Michael Jackson tribute concert that is being held on October 8 in Cardiff.

The concert, entitled Michael Forever, will see performances from Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green and a live satellite performance from Beyonce, but some of the Jackson family will not be attending the event.

The tribute clashes with Dr. Conrad Murray's trial in Los Angeles where he is being questioned about Jackson's death in 2009. Murray was the late singer's doctor and he is accused of involuntary manslaughter.

Jermaine Jackson has spoken out against the event, which his sister Janet will not be attending, and told BBC's Newsbeat:

"It's bad timing because it's two weeks into the trial...It's good to celebrate, good to keep the legacy alive, but everything has its time...We're all focused on getting justice for Michael, the best tribute we can do for him is getting justice and making sure we get justice as a family as to what happened."
