Charice Pempengco, who portrayed the character of Sunshine Corazon on the hit U.S series Glee, has pulled out of her touring commitments after learning that her father was murdered in the Philippines. 

The talented young vocalist was due to perform in Singapore on Wednesday, November 2 and Thursday, November 3 but announced to her fans on Twitter that she has now cancelled the dates to travel home and support her family. She wrote:

"I am very sorry to all my fans from Singapore. I am not going to be there to be part of David Foster and Friends concert. I have to go back to the Philippines as soon as possible to be with my family. I hope you all understand. I love you all and I will see you next year."

Her 40-year-old father, Ricky Pempengco, died from multiple stab wounds after being attacked on Halloween (October 31) with an ice pick and concluding her message, Charice added: "I loved him and I will still love him. He's still my Dad after all."
