Nicola Roberts: 'I'm still adjusting to being a solo star'

Nicola Roberts has admitted that she is still adjusting to performing on her own without the safety net of her Girls Aloud band mates.

The 'Beat Of My Drum' songstress played an exclusive set at Oxford Street's Carphone Warehouse in London on November 23 and spoke to BANG Showbiz following the gig about life as a solo artist:

"I am adjusting to it- it's very different. Being in the studio, and writing and recording is very different, being on your own. It's two totally different elements."

The talented singer also explained that working alone has allowed her to explore musical avenues that would have otherwise been harder to access as part of a group, and added:

"I appreciate I've made a record that's not necessarily what's in the charts and I wanted to do that. I wanted to be able to look back on it and not do something for any reason other than it was the record I wanted to make."
