Lily Allen has thanked fans and wellwishers for sending flowers and messages after internet speculation grew that she had given birth to a baby.

Friend of Allen had tweeted in late November, "Sending out love to Lily, Sam and mini Cooper......YES", which had prompted the internet to go wild with talk of the possible birth.

There has been no official confirmation about the baby nor the birth but tonight (December 5) Allen tweeted a message of thanks to those who had sent their congratulations. She said:

"Thank you for all the flowers and lovely messages everybody. very touching indeed. nuff luv x x."
