Adele tops the 2011 best-selling albums and singles lists on iTunes

Vocal sensation Adele has been named as the best-selling recording artist on iTunes of 2011.

The online music store and downloads website has revealed that the 'Turning Tables' superstar has both the best-selling album and single of the year, and bosses at the company explained that '21' outsold every other full-length offering of 2011 as did Adele's single, 'Rolling In The Deep'.

Earlier this week, December 5, The Official Charts Company named '21' as the top selling album of the 21st Century and she has just been nominated for an impressive 6 Grammy awards

Mumford & Sons' record 'Sigh No More' came in at No.2 and Lil Wayne's latest offering, 'Tha Carter IV', was just behind at No.3. Meanwhile in the singles charts, LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' took second place and Katy Perry's anthem 'Firework' was third.
