Adam Lambert auctions his Versace jacket for charity

Adam Lambert is continuing his philanthropic efforts into the new year and is offering one fan a chance to win his Versace jacket by entering into a special charity auction.

The 'Better Than I Know Myself' superstar posted a message to his official Twitter account in the early hours of this morning, January 13, to let his followers know that they can bid on the stunning item and at the same time raise money for the ACLU of Southern California:

"Win my @Versace jacket I wore to @USWeekly Hot Hollywood! Big @CharityBuzz give @ACLU_SoCal"

He has also autographed the piece of clothing (pictured below) and accompanied the signature with a message that reads, "all is love".

A mission statement on the organisation's website explains that "the Constitution and Bill of Rights set the ground rules for individual liberty, which include the freedoms of speech, association and religion, freedom of the press, and the right to privacy, to equal protection of the laws and to due process of law. The ACLU was founded to defend and secure these rights and to extend them to people who have been excluded from their protection."

The current bid, at 3pm BST on January 13, stands at $5,250.00 and you can both view and bid on the garment at http://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/2919130.
