Chase & Status would prefer Nero to win a BRIT

BRIT Award nominees Chase & Status have admitted their label mates Nero should be collecting an award this year - not them.

The electronic duo received a nod in the British Group category for the awards next month, but Saul Milton told the Daily Star that people should forgot about them and instead ask why Nero hasn't been nominated in the Breakthrough category.

Chase & Status created MTA Records in 2009 and later signed Nero - and they reckon he's worthy of a BRIT gong himself. Milton said:

"Never mind us, NERO should get Best Newcomer at the BRITs. That would make us happier, especially as we signed them."

As previously reported, Chase & Status were confirmed last night (January 16) to play this year's Download Festival as the undercard to fellow dance act The Prodigy.
