Kanye West's overbearing live volume upsets Soundgarden

The volume of Kanye West's live set at this past weekend's Big Day Out festival in Australia was so loud that it interrupted Soundgarden's performance on a neigbouring stage.

The event, which took place on Sunday night (January 22), was affected by a sudden downpour which caused the 'Love Lockdown' star to delay his headlining set by 45 minutes.

When he eventually took the stage, the pulsating rhythms that drive his songs infiltrated Soundgarden's set and prompted frontman Chris Cornell to address the situation in front of the band's irritated audience:

"Sounds like there’s children playing music there, retarded children, retarded as in held back. There’s no other word for it."
