Wrestler Hulk Hogan: I was asked to play bass in Metallica

Legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan has opened up about his musical past, revealing he was asked to play bass guitar with rock maestros Metallica.

Speaking to The Sun, Hogan revealed a past life as a session bassist and said that his famous friends - including Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich - had asked for his services.

He also revealed that Mick Jagger's ex-wife Jerry Hall had asked the Rolling Stones singer if Hogan could join the band - although Jagger never got back to him. He said:

"I used to be a session musician before I was a wrestler. I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn't work out. Jerry Hall also asked Mick Jagger if I could play bass with the Rolling Stones. Mick never got back to me."
