Adam Lambert calls on fans to help him "change the world"

Adam Lambert has launched a campaign that will try to raise $1m for charity.

As promised in his interview with Pressparty, the superstar took to social networking site Twitter to share details of his latest philanthropic endeavor with his 1.3 million followers.

He revealed that today, January 29, is his birthday and he would love for his fans to help raise funds for charity: water.

"Today is my birthday, and for my 30th I’d like you all to help me change the world: http://charitywater.org/adamlambert"

"Lets use birthdays to raise $1 million this year for @charitywater 100% directly funds water projects"

The mission statement on the organisation's website explains that "charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations" and the link Lambert shared with his fans asks them to request donations instead of presents for their own birthdays.

The 'For Your Entertainment' superstar added, "I've been asked what I would like people to do this year for my 30th birthday. I'd like to invite you to join me and "give up" your birthday this year."

"Wait until you see how amazing it feels. Together, I bet we can raise over $1 million and bring thousands more people clean water."

Pressparty told Lambert whilst interviewing him that we will also be supporting his chosen charities in 2012, so please donate by clicking on the charity:water banners on the right of our site.
