Film star and Saturday Night Live guest host Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that he didn't actually see Lana Del Rey's much talked about performance on the show.

Soon after the programme was aired, the actor had been quoted as defending the performance, which some people had criticised as being too shaky.

However, speaking to GQ magazine, he revealed that he had only actually seen the rehearsal - and described it as a "girl frightened". He said:

"I didn't actually see the performance - and I still haven't. I saw the rehearsal and I know what I'm going to see: a girl frightened. She only played her first gig in America maybe a couple of months before. She's a sweet girl who has got a great voice and I think there's a lot there, provided people give her a chance."

Saturday Night Live later spoofed the performance and reaction, both jibing and also defending Del Rey.
