Shakira's South African holiday escapades have taken another animal themed twist after she spotted an injured dolphin on a nearby beach.

The singer had recently expressed her shock via Twitter after a run-in with an over zealous sea lion - an incident which left her with cuts.

And now the 'Hips Don't Lie' singer took to the social networking website to convey her concern at an injured dolphin stuck on a beach near her hotel. She tweeted:

"View from my hotel room. There's a wounded dolphin stuck on the beach. I hope they can get him back in the ocean soon."
