Emeli Sandé lauds Coldplay

Emeli Sandé has taken time to praise Coldplay, who she said has "so supportive" of her.

The rising star told the Daily Star that Chris Martin and Co. have been a helping hand as her solo career begins to take off.

And she is set to head Stateside in an effort to make an impact over the pond too. She is quoted as saying:

"Coldplay have been so supportive of me, they treat me very well. I want to take my music as far as I can so I will be doing some shows there in March."

Sandé also revealed that her Critics' Choice BRIT Awards is a constant source of inspiration to her as the music industry builds up to the ceremony on February 21. She added:

"The award sits on my piano as inspiration when I'm songwriting. There are always some surprises on the night. I won't be performing at the actual BRITs but maybe I will play at some of the afterparties."

It is a constant stream of good news for Sandé it seems, with confirmation yesterday (February 15) that her debut album 'Our Version Of Events' is sitting pretty at No.1 in the UK midweek albums chart.
