Bobby Brown leaves Whitney Houston's funeral early

Bobby Brown, ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston, left her funeral early this afternoon while the service was still going on, ABC News has confirmed.

The memorial is currently taking place at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, but Brown and his son Landon were seen driving off outside of the venue at 12.24pm ET just before Dionne Warwick took to the podium to pay her respects.

2 messages were posted by ABC News, one at 12.24pm and another at 12.35pm, that confirmed:

"Bobby Brown just left the funeral and drove off with his son Landon Brown. ABC News’ Stephanie Wash reports that Brown left in a black Cadillac Escalade. Still no intel on why. He was also with his daughter LaPrincia."

Record executive and long-time friend of Houston's, Clive Davis, told the congregation that just weeks before her death she had told him how focused on both her career and health she was feeling: "I’m commited to get my high notes back, no cigarettes. Clive, I’ll be ready by August.”

He added: "She listened to each song carefully, sitting on the carpet. It wasn’t long before she stood before me and totally owned each song, finding meaning that I don’t think the composers even suspected was there.”
