Joe Jackson's wrongful death lawsuit thrown out of court

A lawsuit filed recently by Joe Jackson has been tossed out of court after it clashed with one previously registered by his wife, Katherine Jackson.

Joe filed a wrongful death lawsuit aimed at concert promoters AEG, but according to Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos he should have just joined the separate suit put in place by Katherine because the law does not favour multiple suits by individual heirs.

Palazuelos explained in an official statement: "Allowing Joseph Jackson to continue with his subsequent suit against AEG Live, alleging the same wrongful death claims as the related case, would contravene the purpose of the one-action rule."

AEG also added that Joe Jackson is not technically an heir to his son Michael's fortune because he is not named in the King of Pop's will, and "at the time Michael Jackson died, (his father) was estranged from his son, who repeatedly and publicly accused him of physical and other abuse."
